Author: Donald McCain was popularly known as Ginger. He was the trainer of the great Red Rum, the famous horse who has won many horse races. Red Rum won the national race not just once but three times. The great horse lover was born in the year 1930. He left school at the age of 13 and then got his first job as a driver of a simple horse cart. Then after 2 years, he joined National service where he worked as a stable boy. He first saw Red Rum in the year 1967 at Aintree and the next year he again saw him in the National race.
In 1968, Ginger got his full training license. But his luck did not favor him and he lost many races. Then after some years later he bought Red Rum which made him successful. Then Red Rum won the first National race in the year 1973 under the guidance of Ginger. Ginger was the Grand National Trainer as under his supervision Red Rum won the Scottish Grand National also. Then, the bad phase came in his life and he started losing the races. After some time he bought another horse named as Amberleigh Horse. So again there was a chain of success in his life with the new runner.
